In an effort to continually improve the Moviesandbox experience, I’ll try to stick to weekly releases from now on, so that feedback can be implemented faster and show-stopping bugs can be squashed while they’re still crawling about (ewwww…).
You can grab the release from the downloads page!
There’s a couple of important fixes and changes in this one:
- more compatible, as I implemented a more strict OpenGL2.0 fallback renderer. This means that older ATI and even some Intel graphics chips should now be able to run Moviesandbox. As long as they support OpenGL 2.0 that is.
- performance improvements, as there’s no need for multisampling anymore (yay!)
- opening the Props menu doesn’t automatically switch to the “Drawing with Meshes” mode. I figured it’s really just annoying and confusing to do that.
- a new system for generating the normals on drawn lines (see previous post). This one’s still a bit experimental, so let me know if you like it.
- faster save/load of drawings.
- and finally, Moviesandbox now comes zipped in a folder. Apologies for the mess last time. You can now safely unzip to a place of your liking and you’ll find a lonesome Moviesandbox folder sitting there, instead of a mess of files.
As always, please let me know of any issues/ideas you encounter along the way in the forums or in the comments to the right!
